Was reading something on znet along these lines; laborism to my understanding was always predicated on a strong base. Even if we like laborism, we still have to put pressure on the fuckers from the base. How did that work out in practise I wonder:

Maybe the political party turns into a tail that wags the dog, especially when the careerists and opportunists in power decide to betray the labour movement in service to their own upward mobility (was this factored into the original assessments of the merits of the parliamentary road to socialism? Don't seem to recall hearing it mentioned somehow. Is it just me or are the Greens making all the same mistakes also).
The ACTU has long been a dog-wagging tail that disciplines workers on behalf of capital; why should the party associated with it be any different. If anything there's a pretty solid case they're even *worse*.
